VIENTIANE, Dec 8 (Bernama) -- Malaysia beat Cambodia 4-0 in a SEA Games Group A match at Chao Anuvong Stadium here Tuesday night to keep its semi-final hopes alive.
The goals were scored by Abdul Manaf Mamat (34min), Norshahrul Idlan Talaha (76min), S.Kunanlal (81min) and Shafiq Rahim (84min).
Malaysia has to beat SEA Games defending champion Thailand this Friday to book a ticket to the semi-final.
The team played without striker Mohamad Zaquan Adha who was suspended two games and goalkeeper Mohd Farizal Marlias who was suspended one game for the incident after the 1-3 defeat to Vietnam on Sunday.
Thailand tops Group A with seven points from three matches while Vietnam was second with the same points but with less goals scored.
Malaysia was third with six months from three matches while Cambodia fourth with three points from three matches while Timor Leste which lost all three matches was bottom.
