Melaka Begin Premier League Campaign In Style



KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 11 (Bernama) -- Melaka began their Premier League campaign for the 2010 season in style when they tamed Shahzan Muda 3-0 at the Stadium Hang Tuah, Melaka.

Striker Zulindra Shah Putra Adam scored two goals, finding the net the first time in the 35th minute and scoring the other goal six minutes before the final whistle.

K.Depan Sakwati scored Melaka's second goal in the 77th minute.

In PENANG, Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) FC, the first team from the public institutions of higher learning to compete in the Premier League, started positively when they beat Pos Malaysia 1-0 at the Stadium USM, here.

The solitary goal was scored with a header by Mohamad Baser Mohamad Napae in the 84th minute after both teams failed to score earlier.

In KUCHING, Sarawak who were guided by new coach Mohamad Zaki, could only muster a scoreless draw with PDRM in the match at the Sarawak Stadium.

Although the host dominated play in both halves, they failed to score.

At the Selayang Municipal Council Stadium, Angkatan Tentera Malaysia (ATM) registered a 1-1 draw with the Harimau Muda squad.

ATM opened accounts with a goal by V.Saravanan in the 78th minute before Md Khairul Izuan equalised in the 86th minute.

In KOTA KINABALU, Sabah and KL Felda United FC got a point each when they fought to a scoreless draw at the Likas Stadium.

In JOHOR, at the Larkin Stadium, Selangor PKNS defeated Majlis Perbandaran Muar 2-0.
