Mohd Nuzul Bags Silver In Men's Shooting (BERNAMA)

VIENTIANE, Dec 12 (Bernama) -- National Petanque athlete Mohd Nuzul Azwan Ahmad Temizi had to settle for the silver after he lost to Heng Than of Cambodia in the final of the men's individual shooting event at the Booyong Gymnasium, National University Centre, here, Saturday.

Backed by hundreds of Cambodian and Lao supporters, Heng Than was in his own league collecting point after point from almost accurate throws from the start till the end, with the final scoreline reading 48-19.

"It was a suprise as Heng Than had almost perfect throws. Maybe, it was the crowd factor that influenced his fighting spirit and motivation," said Mohd Nuzul afterwards.

In the semi-final, he said, Heng Than did not perform well as he only won 27-17 against his Vietnamese opponent.

Mohd Nuzul had had thrashed Thailand's Buttree Puedpong 44-25 in his semi-final.
