KAFA Still Hoping State Govt Will Issue Gurantee Letter (BERNAMA)

KOTA BAHARU, Nov 29 (Bernama) -- The FA of Kelantan (KAFA) are still hoping the state government will issue a guarantee letter to enable Kelantan to participate in next year's M-League as required by the FA of Malaysia (FAM).

KAFA president Tan Sri Annuar Musa said in lieu of a deposit of RM2.5 to qualify to play, FAM allowed guarantee letters from the various state governments attesting that their teams would indeed be competing in the M-League.

"We have written to the Menteri Besar to help KAFA by issuing the letter as we are not that financially strong to come up with the required deposit," he told reporters when met at an Aidiladha function here on Sunday.

He said the deadline to register for the 2010 season expired in 48 hours.

Should the letter not come through, Annuar said he would have to look for alternative solutions including pledging his personal assets as collateral to enable the team, dubbed the Red Warriors, to compete.
